Notes: *Robyne Ayres in Source 1155 reports that the death
certificate for Harriett Catt (i.e., the mother
of this Harriett) lists a 25-year-old Alice as a daughter, but no daughters
named Harriett or Eleanor. Two alternative hypotheses can explain for the
appearance of a daughter named Alice:
However, only Hypothesis #2 is supported when we compare the ages of daughters Harriett and Eleanor to the 25-year-old Alice. At the time of Harriett Catt's death, daughter Harriett (if then living) would have been 27 years and 7 months old, while Eleanor would have been 25 years and 5 months old — the same age as Alice. I therefore conclude that Harriett died before 1873. This conclusion is further supported by Robyne Ayres report that other histories indicate that "Harriet" died before 1856 — which now seems likely. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
