Notes: Were Wedded
Napa, California December 25, 1911 — Miss Marion V. Hicks and Walter H. Murphy Were Married Christmas — "Miss Marion V. Hicks of Napa and Mr. Walter H. Murphy of Lodi were united in marriage Christmas morning at 9 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents at 419 Seymour street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. W. Shattuck. Mrs. Frank T. Hancock, sister of the bride, acted as matron of honor, and Mr. F. T. Hancock was the best man. The bride wore a dress of white silk mull and a long white bridal veil, and carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums. After the ceremony they repaired to the home of the bride's sister at 1032 Third street, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served. The happy couple left on the 2:30 train for Sacramento, Stockton and Lodi." The first photo at the right shows the Murphy sons in 1958 in Sacramento: Jim, Harold, Ray, Charlie, Bob, Perk, and John. The rightmost photo shows the entire Murphy family — also in Sacramento in 1958. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
