Notes: Sarah was a widow with a son named Shirley when
she married Albert in 1894. Assuming that Sarah's and Albert's birth dates
are correct, then she was 35 years old and he was 28 years old at the date of
their marriage. (Note, however, that there are calculated birth year
conflicts between the Manitoba marriage registration and 1901 and 1906 census
documents. Source 1103 erroneously gives 1893 as the marriage year.)
In July 1906, Albert and Sarah lived on their farm with her son
Shirley, their
sons Roy and Cecil, and Albert's brother Newton.
They had 10 horses, 9 milche cows, 30 other cattle, 8 sheep and lambs, and five
hogs and pigs. Their P.O. address was Lavenham, Manitoba.
Newton later moved out — probably in 1909 when he married.
When Sarah passed on in 1918, their marriage had lasted 24 years. |
