Notes: All eight of Norman and Alice's children were born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
In 1919, Alice Elizabeth passed away at age 30½ in Saskatchewan. Norman
returned to Manitoba with their eight children and resided on the Phil Pullman farm
in the Ladysmith district. Norman worked on his brother Albert
Catt's farm while the children all attended Ladysmith School. Daughters
Myrtle, Hazel, and Nellie later married and moved to other parts of Canada.
In 1928, Norman bought the Albert Catt farm and lived there until his death in
1957, one week after his 81st birthday. The family farm was then taken
over by three sons (Wilbert, George, and Gordon) who still continued the mixed
farming operation as of 1976. The other son, Norval, died in London,
Ontario, in 1961. The oldest daughter, Elsie, and one son, George, continued to
reside at the farm home as of 1976. |
