Notes: *Relationship uncertainty! We suspect that Lily and Charles Dionne never married, but
had a daughter (Bessie Marie Dionne) together — and
that Lily later married a man named Bellivean. Thus Bellivean may have been
Lily's married surname rather than her maiden name.
Years later Bessie said that her parents were French and that they came from Québec.
Although her parents could speak French, Bessie could not.
Bessie said that as a young girl her family relied on a horse for transportation and she would
ride the horse bareback.
Charles' and Lily's relationship was short lived: Charles died when Bessie was about a month old.
