Newspapers.com. The Napa Valley Register (Napa, California) Tues, Aug. 21, 1984, p. 8. Simeon Clyde Williams He was born Dec. 20, 1897, in Covington, KY., and moved to Napa in 1905. He married the former Bessie Crystal McFarren in 1919 and resided in Napa until 1948 when he and his wife moved to Fort Bragg. He was a professional violinist, playing for silent films and vaudeville, and later teaching violin and playing in several music ensembles. He co-founded the Napa Valley Symphony in 1932 and was guest concert master of the Mendocino Symphony. He also worked as an accountant for many years. Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter, Viola C. Duhig of Napa; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. His wife predeceased him in 1976. He was also predeceased by a daughter, R. Lorraine McDermott, in 1979 and a brother, David T., earlier this year. Funeral services were held today at Cain, Grove and Haverfield Funeral Home in Fort Bragg. Interment followed at Rose Memorial Park, Fort Bragg. A memorial music fund is being established in Mr. Williams' memory. | ||||
