Members of his family reported McNeilly was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon when he had difficulty breathing because of an asthmatic condition. They said a heart attack apparently brought on by this condition caused his death. McNeilly had been with the district attorney's for 10 years where he specialized in check investigation. Previously, he was a sheriff's deputy for five years. Before beginning his law enforcement career, McNeilly was an automobile salesman. He was a member of the Fresno County Peace Officers Association and the Check Investigators Association of California. A native of Colfax, Wash., McNeilly moved to Fresno in 1923. His survivors include his widow, Esther, a daughter Mrs. Norma Holt of Fresno, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Peters and Mrs. Mabel Garner, both of Spokane, Wash.; five brothers, Hollis of Fresno, Kenneth of Colfax, Howard of Spokane, and Floyd and Burrell, both of Pendleton, Ore., and two grandchildren. The Lisle Funeral Home will announce the funeral arrangements. | ||||
