Notes: In the 1895 New Jersey State census, John Sokolinsky and his wife Wanda were living in
Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey. They had four, perhaps five children, Theses were Alex,
Florentine, Helen, John, and a younger child. John evidently died prior to 1900.
In the 1900 U.S. census Wanda Sokolinski, 46, now a widow, was living at
18 Madison Street, Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey. She was making a living as
a laundress. She had been born in August 1853 in Germany, coming to the United
States in 1888. She had had 10 children, of which four were then living. Her
oldest son Alexander was 18 years old and was working selling
groceries. He had been born in February 1882 in Germany. The rest of her
children had been born in New Jersey and were all in school. Florence, age 12,
was born in May 1888, Helen, age 10, born in May 1890,
and John, age 8, born in March 1892. |
