Notes: William Brown married Margaret Campbell on 31 Dec 1873 in Logan Twp., Perth,
Ontario. William, age 27, the son of Thomas Brown and Robiner Hyslop, had been
born in Berwickshire, Scotland. Margaret, age 22, the daughter of Andrew Campbell
and Margaret Fleming, had been born in Fallartin, Ontario. They were Presbyterian,
and were married by the Rev. Robert Renwick. William was a saw mill owner and
a farmer, farming on Lot 28, Conc. XVI. Walter and Agnes
Noble were next door neighbors, farming on Lot 27.
Their first daughter, Martha Kay, was born 10 May 1876. A second daughter,
Nelly Alice, was born 24 Sep 1879. In 1881, the census shows the family living in
Logan Twp., Perth. Their last daughter, Maggie, was born 27 Apr 1982.
Unfortunately, Margaret died 7 May 1882, from complications of childbirth of her last
daughter. |
