Notes: In the 1900 U.S. census, Ella Eastman, 34, born Sep 1865 in Wisconsin, a widow, was head of
household in Sheldon Village, Ranson, North Dakota. The house on Mountain Avenue was owned free of
mortgage. She had had three children, all of whom were living. In the household were her
daughters Lenore, 14, born Dec 1885, and Geraldine, 10, born Jun 1899, both in North Dakota. Also
in the household was her mother, Liddie McClanathan, 57, born April 1843 in Ohio, widowed.
In the 1910 U.S. census, Sheldon Village, the household included Ella, 44, boarding house keeper,
Lenore, 25, postal clerk, Floyd, 23, office stenographer, Geraldine, 20, real estate office stenographer,
and Lydia McClanathan, 67.
By the 1915 North Dakota State census, Sheldon, the household included only Ella, 49, Lenore, 29, and Lydia,
65. The 1920 U.S. census enumerated Ella, 55, doing housework, Lidy, 76, and Lenor, 34, married.
In the 1930 U.S. census, Sheldon, Lenor, 40, widowed, was a deputy county clerk at the courthouse.
Ella, 64, and Lydia, 83, had no listed occupations.
The 1940 U.S. census, Sheldon, enumerates only Ella Eastman, 70, widowed, no occupation, 8 years of school,
and Lenore Hollinshead, 40, widowed, deputy county auditor at the courthouse, 4 years of high school.
