Notes: In 1851, John Parker and Rebecca Dunn Parker were living on Lot 25, Conc. EMR,
Fullerton Twp., in Perth County, Ontario. John, age 53, and Rebecca, age 45, had
both been born in Ireland. John was a farmer on Lot 25, which consisted of 160
acres, of which 51 acres were under cultivation. These included crops and pasture,
with 10 acres devoted to wheat.
They had ten children then living, all of them born in Ontario. These included
Richard, a laborer age 20, Janet, age 20, John, a laborer age 17, George, a laborer age
15, Elizabeth, age 13, Robert, age 11, Simon, age 9, Joseph, age 7, James, age 5, and
Hannah, age 3 years. The family listed themselves as Westlyan Methodists.
John died before 1861, as Rebecca was listed as a widow in the 1861 Canadian census.
Living with her on the farm were Jane(t), John, Simon, Joseph, James, and Hannah.
John was listed as the farmer of the land. In 1871, only Joseph and Hannah were
living with her. Their religion was now listed as Presbyterian.
