Notes: In the 1900 U.S. census, Emerson Baldwin, 39, and his wife Minnie Baldwin, 33, both
born in Canada, were living in Sherbrooke Twp., Steele County, North Dakota.
Emerson was a farmer. They had been married 15 years, and had had seven children,
five of whom were then living. These were John, 13, Francis, 10, Fanny, 7,
Gladys, 3, and Herny, 11 months. All of the children had been born in
North Dakota.
In the 1910 U.S. census, Emerson E., 49, was a general farmer, had immigrated to the
United States in 1884, and was a naturalized citizen. Minnie B., 43, had
immigrated in 1881. Their children were Francis J., 20, a farm worker,
Fanny E., 17, Gladys M., 13, Henry M., 10, Nellie I., 9, George A., 7, Mabel S., 5,
Minnie B., 4, and Emmerson B., 1.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Emmerson E., 58, was a general farmer, working on his
own account, and his wife Minnie B., 53, was a naturalized citizen. The
children living with them were John G., 33, a general farmer, George A., 16,
a general farmer, Mable S., 15, Minnie B., 14, Emmerson B., 11, and Richard D.,
9.
In the 1925 North Dakota State Census, E.E. Baldwin, 64, and Mrs. E. E. Baldwin, 58,
are listed along with Henry Baldwin, 25, Emerson Baldwin, 16, and Richard Baldwin, 15.
