Notes: In the 1910 U.S. census, Fred G. Lewis, 30, born in Indiana, and his wife, Isabelle M. Lewis,
24, born in North Dakota, were living in Addie Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. Fred was the
local Postmaster. Their children were Howard G. Lewis, 6, and Edna M. Lewis, 4, both
born in North Dakota.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Fred G., 39, and Bella, 33, were living in Binford, Addie Twp.,
Griggs, North Dakota. Fred was a salesman for an auto garage. The children,
Howard G., 15, and Edna M., 13, were attending school.
In the 1930 U.S. census, Fred G., 49, and Isabella, 44, were still in the Village of
Binford. Fred was a salesman. They were renting their residence, and had a
radio. Enumerated next to them were their daughter Edna, LaPlant, 23, her husband
Bruce LaPlant, 29, and their daughter Shirley LaPlant, 2.
In the 1940 U.S. census, Fred, 59, and Isabell 54, were still in Binford, in the same
residence as in 1935. Fred was the superintendent for a government sanitation
project. He had completed the eighth grade. Isabelle had also completed the
eighth grade. They were renting their residence for $15. per month. Living with
them was their grandson, Charles H. Lewis, 4, born in Montana. |
