Mildred, Utah. His parents were George Finlinson and Susan Trimble. Mary Olive Walker
was born 23 Jun 1879 in Oak City, Millard, Utah. Her parents were Simeon H. Walker and Kate Platte
Roper. William and Mary were married 16 Nov 1899 in the LDS temple in Manti, Sanpete, Utah.
They had a family of seven children, and were members of the Latter-day Saints.
In the 1910 U.S. census, William J. Finlinson, 38, and his wife Mary O. Finlinson, 30, were living in Leamington,
Millard, Utah. No occupation was listed for William, for he had his own income. Their farm was owned
free of mortgage. They had been married ten years, and Mary had had four children, all of whom were then
living. These were Leda, 9, Welby, 6, Margie K., 5, and Melba A., 3. The oldest two attended
school.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Leamington, William J. Finlinson, 48, and his wife Mary O. Finlinson, 40, now had
seven children. William was a general farmer, farming on his own account. The children were
Leda, 19, a school teacher, Welby, 16, in school, Margie K., 15, in school, Afton M., 13, in school,
Walker W., 7, in school, Nardia O., 4, and George T., 7 months.
Mary Olive Walker Finlinson died 5 Feb 1944 in a hospital in Payson, Utah, Utah. Her obituary is found
posted in Find A Grave. William Jefferson Finlinson died 31 Oct 1959 in
Payson, Utah, Utah. They are buried in the Oak City Cemetery, Oak City, Millard, Utah. |
