| Adele's parents were Rudolph
Schwartz and Nedye Ethel Loewy, both born in New York. Rudloph
was a cigar manufacturer and his parents were born in Germany.
Nedye's parents were born in Austria. In 1930, Adele and her parents were living in and apartment at 1445 Oak Street in San Francisco. In 1930, Adele now had a brother, 2 years younger, and the family lived at 146 23rd Avenue in San Francisco. Adele attended UC Berkeley, obtaining a B.A. in child development. She married Lewis Lawyer on August 13, 1937, when she was 19 years old. According to Donald Olson, Lewis's cousin, they worked for the California Packing Company. Later they both had an exciting career working for the Del Monte Corp. as plant pathologists. After retiring, she and her husband were involved in raising a variety of iris, and hybridizing tall bearded and Pacific Coast native iris. They had a one acre yard in the Oakland hills with a view of the bay. They also traveled with family and friends. 
After the death of Lewis, when the yard work became too much, she moved to
Rossmoor in Walnut Creek. She liked to zip around Rossmoor in her little red golf
cart. Here she was living closer to her brother and his wife.
Her daughter lived nearby, and her son about an hour away. She had been
spending summers in Hawaii with her daughter and her family, but in 2005,
she went to Sea Ranch on the Northern California Coast, with her son and his
family. Seen at the right in 2005, she is lively at age 87 years.
Adele passed away at her home in Rossmoor, Monday, August 27, 2007, surrounded
by her close family. She died from complications related to her four year
