Notes: Dorothy Miller was born 21 Jan 1902 in Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey.
She was christened 4 Apr 1902. Her parents were Hans Nielsen Møller and
Kathrine Abrahamsen. Both were from Denmark, and both had become naturalized
citizens in 1895. She had an
older sister Nellie Marie, born in Aug 1898, and an older brother Hans Augustinus, born
in Dec 1900. In the 1900 U.S. census, the family was living at 192 Hall Street
in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Her father was a milkman, and was in the milk business
his entire career. In the 1910 U.S. census, Dorothy's family was living at 401 Hall Avenue, Perth Amboy. Her cousin Alfred Miller was living with the family and driving a milk truck for his uncle. In the 1920 U.S. census, Dorothy was working as a stenographer for a terra cotta company. Dorothy married Louis H. Wittnebert, also from Metuchen, about 1924. Their daughter Dorothy was born in 1925, and their son Louis was born 10 Apr 1928. In the 1930 U.S. census, the family was living on Amboy Avenue, next to his parents. He was an auto mechanic working in a garage. Their daughter Dorothy died in 1936 at the age of 12 years, and is buried in the Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, New Jersey. In the 1940 U.S. census, Dorothy's husband was running his own gas station and tourist cabins. Dorothy died 31 Oct 1970 in the John F. Kennedy Community Hospital, Edison, New Jersey. Her husband Louis died in Dec 1977. Both are buried in the Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, alongside their daughter Dorothy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
