Notes:  Helen was born 30 Nov 1861 in Fullarton Twp., Ferth, Ontario.  Her parents were William Stewart and Ann Brown, both born in Ireland.  She was the youngest of 9 children.  Her siblings were Margaret, Mary, Isabella, and Hannah, born in Ireland.  William, Grace, Selena, and Andrew were born in Ontario.  Her father was a farmer, and the family was Presbyterian. In the 1871 Canada census, the children at home were Isabella, 26, Hannah, 24, Grace, 19, Selena, 17, Andrew, 13, and Helen, 9.  In the 1881 Canada census, only Isabella, Grace, and Helen at home. Helen married John Detwiller on 16 Nov 1887, in Avonbank, Downie Twp., Perth.  John died 6 Jul 1893.  They had no children.  Helen died 29 Nov 1938, in Mitchell, Perth, Ontario.  Cause of death was cerebral hemmorrhage, contributed to by hypertension.  She is buried in the Knox Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mitchell, Perth, Ontario.  Her headstone is shared with her sisters Grace Stewart and Isabella Stewart, both of whom never married.
