Notes: Minnie Etta Detwiller, also known as Ella, was born 31 Jul 1878 in Westminster Twp.,
Middlesex, Ontario. She was the second child of James Detwiller and Selina
Baker. Her older brother Charles was born in 1876. Her younger siblings
were Julia, born in 1881, Emma in 1882, John (Will) in 1884, and James in 1886. Shortly after James was born, Minnie Etta's family moved west to the Province of Manitoba. In 1891, they are found living in the Rural Muncipality of Cornwallis. Charles brother Franklin was born about 1888, and sister Eva was born in 1892. In 1901 the family is identified as living in the Glenwood/Hayfield area near Brandon, Manitoba. Minnie Etta married Wesley Stewart on 11 Jul 1894 in Brandon, Manitoba. Their only child, Herbert John Stewart, was born in Beresford, Manitoba on 2 Feb 1896. Minnie Etta died 27 Nov 1897 in Brandon, at the age of 19 years, 4 months, of convulsions. The Manitoba Vital Statistics Index gives that date and place for a "Henrietta" Stewart, age 19 years, and the actual registration gives Wesley Stewart of Brandon Hills as the informant. She is buried with her parents in the Brandon Hills Church Cemetery, Brandon, Manitoba. The gravestone monument gives a death date of 17 Nov 1898, which is different from the vital statistics record. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
