Notes: George Staheli married Emma Barbara Graf on 27 Sep 1897 in St.
George, Utah. He was 41 years old and had never been married. Emma was 38
years old and this was her third marriage. She brought five young
children into the marriage. These were Lillian and Hilda Graf and Karl, George
and John Fordham. George and Emma's first son, Rulon Harvey, was born
24 Jun 1898. In the 1900 U.S. census, George and Emma were living in Santa Clara
with all six children. George was farming, and was a naturalized citizen.
Their daughter Vera Grace was born 4 Oct 1900, and their son Lorraine was born 29 Mar 1903.
By the 1910 U.S. census, George and Emma had been divorced. George was boarding with
John and Emma Graf, and Emma was living with all 8 of her children. In the 1920 U.S.
census, the couple was back together, and only the three children of their own marriage
were living with them. By the 1930 U.S. census, George and Emma were living alone.
Emma died 15 May 1930 and George died 30 Dec 1934. Both are
buried in the Santa Clara City Cemetery, Santa Clara,
Utah. |
