Notes: According to family records, Robert Hamilton Detwiller and Lucy Henrietta Shaw,
were married on 4 Feb 1914, by the Rev. R. C. Eaken. This was probably in
Imperial, Saskatchewan. He was 29, and she was 21. In the 1916
Saskatchewan census, they were living on their farm at Wood Creek,
Last Mountain, and had a baby daughter, Florence Margaret, born in 1916.
In the 1921 Canada census, there were two more children George William,
1917, and Marion Henrietta, 1920. Their last child was Robert Milton,
born in 1930.
According to Source 956, the couple both liked to play bridge, and were avid
curlers. They moved to town in 1950, and retired from farming in 1953.
In the 1935, 1938, 1940, and 1945 Canada Voter Lists, Robert and Lucy are listed in
the Lake Centre electoral district. In 1957 the electoral district is called
Moose Jaw-Lake Centre.
Robert died 15 Jan 1958 in Imperial, Saskatchewan, and Lucy died 5 Mar 1980,
also in Imperial. Both are buried in the Imperial Cemetery, Imperial,
Saskatchewan. |
