Kansas. In the 1930 U.S. census, Clement, 25, and his wife Freda, 25, were living in Sheridan Twp.,
Ottawa, Kansas. Clement, was a farmer, renting. They had a infant son, Donald D., born in
Kansas.
In the 1940 U.S. census, Clement, 35, and his wife Freda, 35, were living at 603 4th Street, Minneapolis,
Ottawa, Kansas. Clement, was an underground laborer, operating a rocker. Their children were
Donald D., 10, and Ethel R., 6. They later had two more children, Phyllis and Larry.
The family moved to 119 Newton, Harvey, Kansas. The Newton, Kansas, City Directory, 1958
lists Clement as a shop mechanic for the City of Newton. Their daughter Phyllis is listed as a
secretary for Brannie Ice & Turner and as a student. In the 1962 City Directory, Clement is listed
as a welder for the Hesston Mfg., Co., and their son Fred as an employee of Fred V. Gentsch, Inc.
In the 1963 City Directory, Clement was listed as a construction worker.
Clement died 18 Dec 1968, probably in Newton, Harvey, Kansas. Freda died 12 Jan 1987, her last
residence Newton, Kansas. Both are buried in the Highland Cemetery,
Minneapolis, Ottawa, Kansas. |
