Notes: Earl Wadsworth Walker (William, as he was then known,) and Dorothy Norma McLeod were married 14 Nov 1934,
in Tonopah, Nye, Nevada. They were married by Judge Walter Bowler, who performed the ceremony in his own
home. Witnesses to the wedding were Miss Zora Maroney, Dorothy's closest friend,
and Clem Walker, William's brother. These two were
married in 1935. William had been engaged in mining in the Tonopah and Goldfield area of Nevada. At the time of their marriage, he was engaged with the Pittsburg-Goldfield Mining Company in Goldfield, where the couple planned to make their home. In 1935 they were living in rural Esmeralda County, Nevada. In the 1940 U.S. census, Earl and his wife Dorothy were living in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. They owned their house, valued at $400. Their son Norman was 4 years old. Earl was a hoisting engineer for a lead zinc mine. He had worked 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1790. Both Earl and Dorothy had completed four years of high school. Two more children were probably born of this marriage In 1953, Mrs. William Walker visited Goldfield for the Memorial Day celebrations with three children. Dorothy died 1 May 1963. She is buried in the Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada. Earl married again to Pearl Vernell Mortenson Evans. He died 3 Apr 1991 and is buried with Dorothy in Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery. | ||||||||||||||||
