"Will of Mme. Modjeska. Left Legacies to Relatives That May Take All the Estate."
The New York Times: April 25, 1909. Copyright © The New York Times. Santa Ana, Cal., April 24.--The will of Mme. Helena Modjeska, which has been filed for probate, was executed on Aug. 26, 1906, and leaves $4,ooo to a sister in Poland and $1,000 to each of the children of Ludwig Opid of Los Angeles, a nephew. The balance is left to her husband, Count Bozente. The value of the estate evidently has dwindled since the will was made, as yesterday it was placed at $5,000, consisting of three acres of land at Tustin, Orange County; silverware, and a note for $1,000. | ||||
