Photograph of the accident with the following caption: "A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner's jury in the inquest held Wednesday at Durban into the cause of death of Harvey Noble, of Benito, who was instantly killed when the car in which he was riding plunged into a water-filled ditch in the Pretoria district on July 22. It was found that the accident resulted from a puncture which caused the car to swerve off the road. Noble was 34 [sic] years old, a returned soldier, and single. E. Westman, owner and driver of the car was uninjured, and Lew John, a Chinese resturant keeper, suffered minor injuries. Thye were returning from a dance about four o'clock in the morning. Dr. Bruce of Swan River, was the presiding coroner." "Unscathed in War; Crash Fatal. Loose Wheel on Car Fatal to Canadian War Vet; Other Occupants Escape Unhurt."
