Cabin Owners Face Charges In Upland
      UPLAND  —  Twelve mountain cabin owners, including two from Pomona, are scheduled to appear in the Upland Justice court June 30 to answer charges of failing to comply with government fire prevention regulations.
      The charges were filed against the cabin owners Tuesday by Wiley Messer, U.S. forest warden at Mt. Baldy Village in upper San Antonio Canyon in a move designed to forestall fires in the San Bernardino National Forest this summer.
      Charges against the accused include unclean cabin sites, faulty flues and barbeque pits and lack of spark arresters.  Some owners were said to have violated the regulations for two years.
      Maximum penalty for those found guilty is $500 fine and six months in jail.  In addition, they are subject to cancellation of their cabin site leases.
      Scheduled to be arrained before Judge Fred H. Jacobs are - - - - - - and Amy N. Olson, Alhambra.
