GRANDMA OLSON'S CAKE 1 cup milk 1/2 cup margarine, soft 1 1/2 cups sugar (1/2 white and 1/2 brown) 2 Tbsp cocoa Boil these together for about 2 minutes. Let cool. Add the remaining ingredients and beat until smooth 1/2 cup milk 2 egg yolks 2 egg whites, whipped 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour, sifted Bake in 2 - 9"greased layer pans for 20 minutes at 350° Let cool. ICING: 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1/4 pint (1/2 cup) half & half Boil until soft ball is formed in cold water. Beat until right consistency. Place first layer upside down. Cover with icing. Top with second layer, and spread icing on top, letting it drip down sides. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
