Leonard Haws Johnson returned home to his Heavenly Father, May 13, 2010.
Dad was a beloved husband, father and devoted to his wife Eileen. Leonard was born in Fort Sam Houston,
Texas, April 7th, 1920. He was the third child of thirteen children. He served a Spanish-speaking
mission for the LDS Church in the Spanish American mission. He served in the U.S. Air Corp as a pilot
during World War II. As a Second Lieutenant, Leonard returned to Salt Lake City, where he reunited with a
sister missionary, from his earlier LDS mission, and married Eileen Felix.
They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, April 20, 1945. They have been eternally married for 65
years. Leonard graduated from BYU with a degree in Economics and went on to a successful career with the
Utah Farm Bureau. He was promoted to the American Farm Bureau, and assigned supervision for all states
west of the Mississippi and served there for 32 years. He has been an active member of the LDS Church and
a frequent Temple attendee. Leonard is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Felix Johnson, his four
children, Elena Smith of Dallas, Texas; Kent Felix Johnson of Salt Lake City; Mary Ann Franson of Provo; and
Leonard Dee Johnson of Salt Lake. Leonard and Eileen adore their 19 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Berg
Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services.
Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City, Utah.
