Notes: Thomas purchased this lot for $10.00 in gold coin, five weeks prior to Thomas
and Mary Anne's 50th wedding anniversary party in Corning, and one year prior
to the sale of their Corning properties.
I assume that (1) the lot had no structure on it at the time of the purchase,
(2) Frank Hancock may have built a house for Thomas and Mary Anne on this lot
since he was a carpenter and they were his parents, and
(3) Thomas and Mary Anne did not move from Corning to Granada until after
12 Feb 1917. However, the 1920 census
shows Thomas and Mary Anne living as renters — rather than owners —
in February 1920. |
