Notes:  Louise Blanch Grable was born 6 Dec 1916 in Grants Pass, Josephine, Oregon.  Her parents were George Homer Grable and Osa May Pollock.  She was the second of five children.  The family is not found in the 1920 U.S. census.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Blanch L. Grable, 13, was living with her family at 1022 North 9th St., Grants Pass, Oregon.  Her father, George H., 37, was a city fireman, and her mother, Osa M., 34, was a housewife.  Her siblings were Fanny M., 14, Mildred A., 11, Buelah I., 8, and George H., 6.  All of the children attended school and the family owned their home valued at $1,200.

Louise Blanche Grable married Clyde Celcer McClure on 3 Jul 1935 in Grants Pass, Josephine, Oregon.  In the 1940 U.S. census, Louise McClure, 23, and Clyde McClure, 34, were living at 8A First Ave., Grants Pass, Oregon.  Louise had 4 years of high school.  Clyde, had an 8th grade education, was a Caterpillar operator, and had earned $1,533. in the past year.  They owned their home valued at $500.  Their children were Shirley, 4, and William, 2.

Clyde Celcer McClure, 33, registered for the World War II draft on 16 Oct 1940.  At that time the couple was living in Chester, Plumas County, California.  Clyde was described a 5'9". 160 lbs., with a light complexion, brown hair and gray eyes.

The marriage of Louise and Clyde did not last, and sometime before 1950 Louise married Robert C. Whitthorne, Jr.  In the 1950 U.S. census, Louise B. Whitthorne, 33, and Robert C. Whitthorne, 44, were living at 3014 Old Sonoma Rd., Napa, Napa, California.  Robert was a ship fitter at Mare Island Navy Yard, and was listed as a WWII veteran.  Living with them were Shirley L. McClure, 14, and William H. McClure, her children from her prior marriage.  Robert and Louise adopted his 4-year old niece Candace after his sister Dora Lee Whitthorne Locatell died in November 1959.

Louise enjoyed bowling and fishing and was a member of the Carneros Women's Club.  In the 1956 and 1961 Napa City Directories, Louise and Robert Whitthorne are listed as living at 3015 Sonoma Rd, Napa.  In public records, Louise and Robert Whitthorne are listed in 1991 at 1230 Milton Rd, # A, Napa; and in 1992 at 1637 Santiago Ave., #A, Napa.

Robert died 28 Mar 1995, at age 76, at the Queen of the Valley Hospital, Napa, California.  Louise died 19 Feb 2002 in a local hospital, Napa, Napa, California.  Pursuant to her wishes, no services were held.
