Notes: Joseph and his wife Mary Ann owned land in West Deer Township,
Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, for several decades.
In the 1850 USA census, Joseph, 32, and Mary A., 27, were living in West Deer Township,
Allegheney. Joseph was a farmer and his real estate was worth $1,500.
A young boy, John Stacker, 7, was enumerated in their household.
On 23 Mar 1858, Joseph sold land to Ephraim Morrow, and purchased the home where they
thereafter resided for many years (post office Boston).
A wealthy farmer, Joseph was the founder of the town called Boston, three miles from
McKeesport. He and Mary were members of the U.P. Church of Boston, of
which Joseph was an elder.
