Notes: After their marriage, George and Maud resided with the Pendleton family in Placer
County, California. In 1910 George and three of his brothers listed their
occupation as gold miner. Maud did the cooking for them. In 1912 Maud registered to vote as a Republican in Dunsmuir, Siskiyou County. George and her later moved to Santa Cruz, California. In 1920 George and Maud were then living in her husband's parents' home in Santa Cruz. By 1930 George and Maud were still living in the family home, but they were then listed as the heads of household. By this time they owned and operated a nursery — and raised begonias and huge carnations. Maud's sister Mary moved in (year unknown) with George and Maud — and Mary later died there. In 1940 and 1942 George and Maud both registered to vote as Democrats in Santa Cruz. Maud passed on in 1946 at age 77 years following an accidental fall in her home. | ||||||||||||||||||
