U.S. 1910 Census, California, Tehama, Corning Township, E.D. 123, pg.
18A, lines 29 and 30, 4 May 1910. [Thomas Hancock Household 132] Note: Thomas and Mary A. Hancock both reported in this census that they immigrated to the United States in 1869. However, I believe that the 1869 entries are incorrect. This is because (1) the English 1871 Census [Source 709] shows them living in England in 1871 and also shows that their son Frank was born in England in 1869 or 1870, (2) the English 1871 Census is more contemporary that their 1910 U.S. Census entries and is thus more likely to be correct, (3) the Culley family reported [Source 478 and Source 485] that Fannie Hancock was born in England in 1872, and (4) their son Frank reported in his 1920 U.S. Census entry [Source 299] that he immigrated in 1874. | ||||
