Notes: In 1920, Sanford G. Higginbotham was living with his family in Madison Twp., Morgan
County, Georgia. Sanford was only 5 years old at the time, and had older brothers
and a sister. William was 16 years old, Matha 13 years old, Fletcher 10 years old,
and Millard was 7 years old. Another sister, Sara, was born about 1921.
His father was a merchant, and there was a farm worker living with the
family. His father died before 1930, and Sanford's mother Alice is listed as
head of household in 1930. In 1930, the family was living on a farm at 331
Hancock Street in Madison. , and Alice was listed as a farmer. She owned the
farm which was worth $15,000. Only Millard, Sanford, and Sara were still at home.
