Notes: In the 1930 U.S. census, Amos J. Pouncey, 31, and his wife Mamie E. Pouncey, 30,
both born in Texas, were living at 924 South St. Mary's, San Antonio, Bexar, Texas. Amos was
an automobile mechanic, working on his own account. The family was renting their house for
$27.50 per month, and did not own a radio set. Mamie was a homemaker. The children, all
born in Texas were Amos J., 11, attending school, Lorane, 8, attending school, and Johanna,
age 6.
In the 1934 San Antonio, Texas, City Directory Amy J. Pouncey and his wife Mamie were listed
at 415 Camden, San Antonio. Amos was listed as doing auto repair at 814 N. St. Mary's,
San Antonio. The family moved to Corpus Christi sometime after 1935. |
