Notes: Family records report that Russell and Mabel McNaught, and their children,
lived in Radisson, Saskatchewan. The census descriptions of their exact home
are unclear. The 1911 Canada census reports Russell, Mabel
and Evelyn, age 2, living in the Saskatoon area of Saskatchewan, Villages of
Radisson, Borden, or Pacrofka, on Main Street. Russell was a jeweler.
In the 1916 Saskatchewan census, the family included Evelyn E., 7, and Harvey Henry
Russell, 3.
The census report records them living in the North Battleford district, which is just
north of Radisson. The census district was described as the "Townships 39, 40,
and 41, whole or fractional, ranges 10 and 11, W.3.M., north of the North
Saskatchewan River, including the Town of Radisson and the Village of Fielding."
Also living with the family in 1916 was a single female telephone operator named
Isabella Husdon, 39.
In the 1921 Canada census, the family was living on Alexander Street, in the town of
Radisson, North Battleford. It included Russell, 37, Mable Gertrude, 38,
Eveline Eliz, 12, and Harry H. R., 8. Russell was a jeweler, working on his
own account, and they owned their 5 room wooden house.
Mabel's year of immigration to Canada from the United States is given as 1907,
the year of their marriage. The family is reported as Presbyterian. |
