Notes: In the 1920 U.S. census, Alp Bergsten, 42, and his wife, Johannah Bergsten, 43, both
born in Kansas, were living in Meredith Twp., Cloud, Kansas. Alp was a general farmer,
working on his own account. The farm was owned free of mortgage. Their children were
Dora E., 18, Samuel C., 15, Ellen J., 12, and Robert G., 9, all born in Kansas, and all in school.
In the 1925 Kansas State census, Meredith Twp., Cloud County, Alp 49, and his wife Johannah, 50, were
still farming. The children were Dora, 23, a school teacher, Samuel, 20, farming on the farm,
Ellen, 18, and Robert, 14. Samuel married Florence Smith in 1926. The rest of the children
never married.
In the 1930 U.S. census, Meredith Twp., Cloud County, Alp, 54, and "Mary", 54, were still farming,
and their household had a radio set. The children included Dora, 25, a public school teacher,
Anna, 22, no occupation, and Robert, 19, a farm laborer.
Alp and Johannah, along with all of their children, are buried in the
Delphos Cemetery, Delphos, Kansas.
