Notes: In the 1911 Canada census, Walter Ritchie, 29, and his wife Sarah, 23, both born in
Ontario, Canada, were living in the Saskatoon District of Saskatchewan. Their son Howard, 1,
had been born in Saskatchewan. Walter was a farmer in Twp. 33, Range 7, W.3.
In the 1916 Canada census of Saskatchewan, Walter, 34, and his wife Sarah, 28, the farm was identified
as being in the Kindersley District, Montrose. The children, all born in Saskatchewan were
Howard, 6, Allan, 5, Maud, 3, and Edna, 1. Walter and the children were were listed as
Presbyterian, his wife Sarah as Roman Catholic.
In the 1921 Canada census, Montrose Rural Municipality, Walter, 39, and Sarah Mathilta, 34, had
added additional children to the family. The children were Howard, 11, Allen, 9, Maud, 8,
Edna, 6, Ethel, 3, and Orville, 1. Their 4-room house was made of wood, and Walter owned
the farm. |
