Notes: In the 1910 U.S. census, Howard N. Craw, 38, and his wife May Craw, 38, were living in
Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. Howard was a stage driver, and the family was renting their house.
The children were Adeline, 13, attending school, Charlotte M., 6, and Therma I., 4. May had now had
10 children, only these three now living.
A son, Frank Craw, was born in 1914. Howard died 3 Jan 1916 in Pioche, and is buried in the
Pioche Public Cemetery. Daughter Adleen married Owen F. Walker on 16 Jan 1916 in Pioche. May,
now a widow, moved back to Minnersville, Beaver, Utah, where she is found in the 1920 U.S. census.
In the 1930 U.S. census, May, 58, is now living on County Road, back in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada.
Her son Frank Craw, 16, is living with her as well as her daughter Therma Austin, 23. Her daughter is
divorced with a daughter of her own, Madalyn Austin, 4. Therma is a housekeeper for a private family.
In the 1940 U.S. census, Pioche, Ellen May, 68, is sharing the household with her son Frank, 26, and his
wife Nita, 17, Frank is a truck driver for a lead zinc mine. Also in the household is her
granddaughter Cleone Roberts, 14. Cleone is the daughter of Charlotte, now deceased.
Ellen May Banks Craw died 23 Oct 1944 in Pioche. She is buried with her husband in the
Pioche Public Cemetery, Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. |
