Notes:  Agnes Detwiller was born 30 Mar 1839, probably in Perth county, Ontario.  Her parents were Christian Detwiller and Marion Campbell.  In 1851, Agnes, then age 14, was living with her parents and eight brothers and sisters on a 90 acre farm in the community of Motherwell, Fullarton Township.  This was her home when she married Walter Noble on 10 Feb 1860.

In the 1861 Canada census, Agnes was living with her husband Walter in Elma, Fullarton Twp., Perth.  She is listed as being Presbyterian.  She gave birth to eleven children in the next twenty-three years.  Their first-born twin boys died at birth.  The 1871, 1881, and 1891 Canada census records show the family in Logan Twp., Perth.  It is presumed that she immigrated to the United States in 1893 with her husband and children.

In the 1900 U.S. census, Agnes and Walter, with children Mary and Walter, were living in Ontario, San Bernardino, California.  By 1907, she had been widowed, and was living with her daughters Marion (Mern) and Mary at 22 North 5th Street, Alhambra, Los Angeles, California.

Click to enlarge In later years she took a trip with her daughters Mary and Mern to visit other members of the family in Kansas, New York, Ontario, and North Dakota.  The photo to the left shows Agnes with two of her sisters during a trip to Kansas in 1912.

Agnes passed away on 19 Oct 1914 at her home on North Fifth Avenue in Alhambra.  The funeral services were held at the home at 9:30 a.m..  The cemetery services were held at the Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario, California, with the Rev. Dr. J.F. Loba officiating.
