Notes: Gloria Marie Perez was born 5 Sep 1930 in Los Angeles County, California.
She was the oldest of four children of Alfonso Martin Perez, born in California, and Mary
Ortega, born in Mexico. Her younger sisters were Rosita and Dolores. Her younger
brother Albert was born two decades later. Her father was a laborer, and the family
made their home in San Gabriel, Los Angeles, California. In the 1940 U.S. census, Gloria was living with her family at 715 E. Grand, San Gabriel, Los Angeles, California. They were living in the same place as in 1935, and their monthly rent was $30. Her father Alfonso had completed two years of high school and was a carpenters helper in the building industry. Her mother Mary had completed 6th grade. The children were Gloria, 9, 3rd grade; Rosie, 8, 1st grade; and Dolores, 6. Gloria Perez, 18, married George W. Olson, 24, on 25 Mar 1949 in Los Angeles County, California. Their marriage produced two sons. They made their home at 2612 Doolittle Avenue, Arcadia, Los Angeles, California. In 1959 and 1960, Gloria is listed as the office secretary for Hupp & Co. Her husband George worked as a Deputy Marshall for Los Angeles County. In 1967, Gloria was the secretary for the Arcadia Babe Ruth League. She was also a member of P.E.O. Gloria and George liked to cruise. Their trips included the Rhine River, Germany and the St. Lawrence River, Canada. In their 2001 Christmas letter they recalled that they were in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 9-11. Gloria's husband George died 6 Sep 2007 in Arcadia, Los Angeles, California. He was buried next to his parents in the Live Oak Memorial Park, Monrovia, Los Angeles, California.
