Notes: Almira Rosalind Fishback was born 25 Apr 1909 probably in Alhambra, California, as that is where the family residence was. Her parents were Henry Fishback and Rachel Hildebrand. She had two older brothers, Charles born in 1889, and Henry R. in 1902, and five older sisters - Minnie born in 1891, Harriett in 1893, Matilda in 1895, Francis in 1898, and Adel in 1906. In the 1910 U.S. census, the family was living at 28 S. Electric Street, Alhambra. Her father and older brother Charles were carpenters. Her sister Minnie was a telephone operator. In 1911, her younger brother Albert was born. Her sister Francis, who had been born mentally or physically retarded, died in 1915.

In the 1920 U.S. census, only Henry R., Adel, Almira, and Albert remained at home. Her father was now a building contractor. In the 1930 U.S. census, her parents had moved from Alhambra and were living at 581 Valmont Street in the City of Los Angeles. Only Adel, Almira and Albert were living with them. Her father in his retirement years, listed himself as a farmer. Adele was a telephone operator.

In 1934, Almira is listed as registered to vote at 6663 Valmont Street, Los Angeles, along with her brother Albert. She married John Carlson on 13 Apr 1934 in La Canada, Los Angeles County. They had two daughters, born in October 1934 and September 1936. In 1936 and 1938, Almira and John were registered to vote as Republicans while living at 6539 Elmo Street, Los Angeles. In 1940 and 1944, their address was 6542 Valmont Street, Los Angeles. They are reported at the Elmo St. address in 1946 through 1954.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Almira and John are living at the Valmont Street address, with their second daughter. The older daughter has probably died. Almira is reported to have a high school education. They owned their home, valued at $5,000.

It is unknown where or when Almira's husband John died. Almira died 12 Aug 1993 in Nevada County, California. Her last residence was in Grass Valley, Nevada County. Her older sister Adel and her husband James McElhaney had also been residents of Nevada County when they died. Almira's burial place is unknown.
