Notes: Seen in the photograph to the right, this was the long time family residence of Henry
and Rachel Fishback in Alhambra,
California. In the 1900 USA census, the children included Charles (1889),
Minnie (1891),
Harriet (1893), Mathilda (1895), and Francis (1898). Francis was born mentally or
physically disabled. Henry's occupation was listed as a miner. By the 1910
USA census,
Henry (1902), Adel (1906), and Almira (1909), had been added to the family.
Henry (Sr.) was now a carpenter, as was his son Charles. Minnie was a telephone
operator. Albert was born in 1911, and Francis died in 1915.
In 1920, Albert was omitted from the census, even though he was nine years old.
He does not appear until the 1930 Census, after the family had moved into the City of
Los Angeles. Henry R., Adel, and Almira were living with the family.
Henry (Sr.) was now a building contractor, and Henry R. was a laborer in a lumber
yard. Their home was owned free of a mortgage. |
