Notes: Elizabeth Detwiller was born 26 Jan 1865 in Fullarton Twp., Perth, Ontario. She
was the fourth child of Alexander Detwiller and Elizabeth Parker. She grew up
on the family farm, on Lot 31, Con. EMR (East Mitchell Rd.), Fullarton Twp.
In the 1871 Canada census, Fullarton Twp., her siblings included Rebecca, born in 1860,
Marion, 1862, Christopher, 1863, John, 1867, and Alexander, 1870. Bertha,
born in 1869, died as an infant, and Christopher was to die in 1876. In the
1881 Canada census, Fullerton Twp., her additional siblings were Annie, born in
1873, William, 1875, James, 1876, and Isabella, 1878. By 1885, the family was
complete, with the addition of Innis, 1883, and Robert, 1885. Elizabeth probably attended the W.C.A. Training School for Nurses in Jamestown, New York. In the 1901-1902 Jamestown City Directory, she is listed as a nurse, living with her sister Marion, and other siblings at 114 West Eighth in Jamestown, Chautaugua, New York. In the 1903-1904 city directory, she and Marion were living in rooms at 417 Pendegast Ave., Jamestown. According to family sources, Elizabeth married John L. Wilson on 12 Nov 1905, place unknown. The couple had no children. It is unknown when Elizabeth's husband John died. In the 1911 Canada census, she was widowed, and living with her sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Dave Harvey in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the 1916 Manitoba census, she was still living with the family, but they were now in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. In 1919, Elizabeth attended the funeral of her sister Marion in Jamestown, New York. At that time she was living with or visiting relatives in Alhambra, California. In the 1920 U.S. census, Elizabeth was living with her sister and brother-in-law Isabella and O. Nelson Rushworth in Jamestown, New York.
