Notes: Muriel Helen Detwiller was born in 19 Jul 1923 in Alexander, Manitoba. Her
parents were John William Detwiller and Margaret Campbell Brown. A brother and sister died as
infants. Her sister Edna Robena was born in 1910, and brother William Herbert in 1918. In 1935 the family was living in Douglas, Neepawa, Manitoba. According to the Canada Voters Lists, her father was a laborer. In 1940, the family was living at 340 Eleventh St., City of Brandon, Manitoba. Her father was a patrol man, her brother William (Herbert) a laborer, her sister Edna a seamstress. Muriel graduated from nursing school in Brandon, Manitoba. She spent her nursing career as a Registered nurse at Vancouver General Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital. The family moved to British Columbia about 1947. In 1949, the Canada Voters Lists identify the family living at 1747 East Fifth Street, Vancouver. Muriel was a nurse, her father a stableman, her sister Edna a seamstress, and her brother William (Herbert) a mechanic. Muriel married Eldon Lloyd Morrow in 1949 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her brother William married Isabel May Morrow, Eldon's sister, the following year. William and Isabel had two daughters and a son. In 1953, the Canada Voters Lists identify them living at 2666 Lily Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. Eldon worked for the Canadian National as a freight clerk. In 1958 and following, the Canada Voters Lists identify them at 10268 128 A Street, North Surrey, B.C. Muriel is identified as a nurse in 1965. Muriel's husband Eldon died 13 Apr 1968, probably of a heart attack. He was D.O.A. at the Princton General Hospital, Princeton, B.C. At the time of his death, the couple was still living at 10268 128 A Street, Surrey. Muriel died 13 Aug 2012 at the Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, B.C. She may have have suffered from Alzheimer's. A Memorial service was held 15 Sep 2012 from Avalon Funeral Home in Surrey. She is probably buried with her husband in the Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey, British Columbia. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
