Notes: John William Detwiller and Margaret Campbell (Maggie) Brown were married 27 Mar 1907
in Brandon, Manitoba. They are seen at right on their marriage date.
They had five children, all born in Manitoba. Kenneth Lloyd, born 1908, died
at 4 months. Edna Robena, born 1910, died single in 1979. Irna Irene, born
1914, died at 2 months. William Herbert, born 1918, married Isabelle May Morrow,
and died in 1999. Muriel, born 1925, married Eldon Lloyd Morrow, and died in
2012.
In 1935 the family was living in Douglas, Neepawa, Manitoba. According to the
Canada Voters Lists, [John] William was a laborer, and their daughter Edna was a
dressmaker. In 1940, the family was living at 340 Eleventh St., City of Brandon,
Manitoba. John W. was a patrol man, Edna was a dress maker, and Herbert a laborer.
John and Margaret moved to British Columbia about 1947, when he retired. In 1949,
the Canada Voters Lists identify the family living at 1747 East Fifth Street,
Vancouver. J.W. was a stableman, Margaret a housewife, Edna a seamstress, Herbert
a mechanic, and Muriel a nurse. In 1953, John William is listed as retired, and
Edna R. as a saleswoman.
John died at the Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, B.C., on 3 Jan 1954.
Margaret died at the Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, B.C., on 13 Jul
1955. They are buried in the Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, British Columbia.
