Notes: Henry Beiker, Jr., and Bertha Irene Strome were married in 1929, probably in
Englefeld, Humbolt, Saskatchewan. Henry was a farmer, and her father gave the couple a milk
cow as a dowry. They began their family of eight children in 1930. Their last son, James Henry
was born 14 May 1950 and died 15 May 1950. He is buried in the Holy Guardian Angels Roman
Catholic Cemetery, R.M. of St. Peter #369.
In 1949, Henry Bieker, farmer, and Mrs. Henry Bieker are listed in the Canada Voters Lists in
Englefeld, Humbolt, Sastchewan. Leaving the farming to their sons, Henry began to build,
buy and sell homes. In 1953, they are listed as Henry Bieker, retired, and Mrs.
Bertha Bieker, at 518 Tenth Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They moved to New Westminster,
British Columbia, and in 1957 they are listed at 10608 140th Street, New Westminster. In
1962 and 1965, they are listed at 10893 140th Street, New Westminster. Their son Marvin, laborer,
is listed with them in 1962. In 1968, Henry and Bertha are still at 10893, but the Canada
Voters List identifies the location as Surrey, British Columbia. Henry is identified
as a carpenter. In 1974, Henry, retired, and Bertha, are listed at 10824 141A Street,
Surrey, along with Gloria Beiker, civil servant, and Judy Beiker, teller.
Their son Marvin Aloisus Bieker died 17 Aug 1973, age 33, in New Westminster, British Columbia.
It is unknown when either Bertha or Henry died, and their burial place is unknown. |
