Notes: Henry Bieker, Jr., was born 19 Jun 1906 in Dresden, Decatur, Kansas. He was
the youngest of seven sons in a family of eleven children. His father, Dr. Henry Bieker, Sr., had
been born in Cologne Germany, and his mother, Eva Andrijeski, had been born in Poland. His
siblings, all born in Kansas, were Henry Anthony (Tony), 1888; Alosious Xavier (Allie), 1889;
Peter (Paul); 1892, Mary M., 1894; Rose Veronica, 1895; Gregor Joseph, 1898; Katherine (Florence),
1899; Johanes Bertran (Jack), 1904; and Josephine Bertha, 1909. In the 1910 U.S. census, the family was living in Dresden, Decatur, Kansas. His father Henry had been a doctor in Germany, but here he was a merchant with a drug and hardware business. The children were Peter, 18, railroad section worker, Rosa, 16, Katy, 12, John, 10, Greggory, 12, Frank, 7, Henry, 5, and Josephine 8 months. In 1907, Tony and Allie went to Saskatchewn to homestead. The rest of the family followed in 1913. In the 1916 Canada census of Saskatchewan, the family was living in Englefeld, specifically Twp. 38, Range 19, W2, Regional Municipality of St. Peter #369, Humbolt, Saskatchewan.  The children were Allie, 25, Paul, 24, Gregory, 18, Florence, 16, John, 14, Frank, 12, and Henry Jr., 10. Henry's mother Eva died prematurely of a stroke on 30 Aug 1919. In the 1921 Canada census, R.M. St. Peter #369, Henry Bieker, 62, was farming on Sec. 28, Twp. 38, Range 19, W2. The children were Allie, 30, Gregory, 23, both farming, and Florence, 21, Frank, 17, and Henry, Jr., 15. In 1921, Frank and Henry, Jr., took over the running of the farm, and over the next years bought, sold, and traded lots, opening the land up to grain farming. Henry married Bertha Irene Strome, of Englefeld, in 1929. Her father gave the couple a milk cow as a dowry. They began their family of eight children in 1930. In 1949 they are listed in the Canada Voters Lists in Englefeld, Humbolt. Leaving the farming to their sons, Henry began to build, buy and sell homes. In 1953, they were living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1957 they moved to Surrey, British Columbia. It is unknown when either Bertha or Henry died, and their burial place is unknown. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
