Notes: McKay (Kay) Neilsen Ahlstrom, 21, and Ruth Robison, 21, both residents of
Cedar City, Iron, Utah, were married 12 Apr 1941 in the Manti Temple, Manti, Sanpete, Utah.
Kay and Ruth were married for 36 years and had a family of four children. They both
obtained their pilot's license, and flew together.
Kay and Ruth are listed in the Salt Lake City, Utah City Directories from 1948 through
1960 as living at 733 East 39th South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Kay was an auto mechanic, and
was often listed as Ahlstrom Body & Fender doing business at the rear of their residence.
He also worked as a mechanic for the Petty Motor Co., a Ford dealership (1948), and Freed
Motor Co., (1960), a Chrysler-Imperial dealership. In 1958 Kay is listed as a welder
for EIMCO, the Eastern Iron and Metal Corporation. Ruth is listed as a bookeeper for
William Volker & Co of Utah in 1952 and 1953.
The marriage ended about 1977. Kay Ahlstrom died 27 Jun 1981 in Spanish Fork, Utah, Utah,
and is buried in the Cedar City Cemetery, Cedar City, Iron, Utah. Ruth married a
second time to Robert Charles Allsop. She died 30 Jun 2007 in Salt Lake City, and is
buried in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Sandy, Utah, Utah. |
