Ruth Ahlstrom Allsop

Ruth Ahlstrom Allsop 1920 ~ 2007. Ruth Ahlstrom Allsop, 87,
our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister returned to her heavenly father on Saturday,
June 30, 2007. She was born in Logan, Utah to Albert and Laura Robison.
Ruth graduated from Hinckley High School where she had the opportunity to travel the western
states as a drummer in the drum and bugle corp. This instilled a love of travel that lasted throughout her
life. Ruth received an associate degree, graduating with honors from Branch Agricultural College. Ruth
had a keen mind and was mathematically adept. She loved problem solving, puzzles, and playing table games
with friends and family. Ruth worked many years as a bookkeeper. She was an astute, hardworking
individual who was well respected for superior work. Ruth would strive for excellence in all she did.
Ruth found much joy in gardening. She surrounded her home with beautiful flowers and always had fresh fruit
and vegetables for friends and neighbors.
Ruth married Kay Ahlstrom April 12, 1941 in the Manti Temple.
They had four children and were married 36 years. Both Ruth and Kay had their pilot's license and were able
to share wonderful times flying together.
Ruth married Robert Allsop April 26, 1980. They successfully
blended their two families into one. Ruth and Bob had 27 happy years of traveling all over the world.
They especially liked being temple workers at the Jordan Temple. Ruth had many other church callings and
filled them faithfully with her sweet, caring spirit. Ruth was a pillar of strength in caring for Bob the
last few years of his life. Ruth cherished her family and was loved by everyone who knew her. We will
always remember her as a vibrant, energetic individual with a kind heart. She will be dearly missed.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert on
May 26th 2007. She is survived by four children, Laura Barnes (Ron), Kent Ahlstrom (Julie), Eileen Sieber
(Michael), MaryAnn Sadler (Merlin); three step children Carol Walker (Stephen), Bob Allsop, Peggy Allsop;
two brothers, Francis Robison (Beverly), Clair Robison
(Darlene); a sister, Barbara Ungricht; two sisters-in-law,
Manon Robison, Nedra Robison; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and many friends.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 6 at Kenwood 1st Ward, 3080 S. 1776 E. from 6:00 to
8:00 p.m. and prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will be July 7th at 11:00 a.m.
at the Kenwood 1st Ward. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
