Peterson Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Shirley Zabriskie Peterson, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2001. Mother was born in Elsnor, Utah, in 1924, where she married Vernon L. Peterson in 1945. She supported Dad through BYU, after which they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1951, where Vernon worked at the Atomic Energy Commission. Idaho Falls was home for 12 years, after which the family moved to a series of locations before settling in the San Francisco Bay area. Shirley fell ill to multiple sclerosis around 1972, which progressively incapacitated her until she was finally released to soar with the angels. Mother never lost her sense of humor and complaining of her discomfort was close to non-existent. She fought a valiant fight and now at long last her suffering is over. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon in 1984. She is survived by all her children, Joel N. (Summer) Peterson and Pauline (Bruce) Sardella Aron, both of Idaho Falls, Mary (Joe) LaGue of Boise, Elayna Reyes of Redwood City, Calif., and Sydnee Franklin of Folsom, Calif. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mother and Grandmother was a joy to our lives and will be missed until we meet again on God's great shore. Thanks, Mom, for our lives, your love and your caring. You taught more by example than you will ever know. Your Family Thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan for all the loving care you gave to our mother. [Photocopy of newspaper obituary published in the "Post" on 23 May 2001 C-2.] | ||||
